The Broadway, West End and international sensation STOMPis back, and I am so glad that it is as I would have loved to go to this show when it first came out and was angry at myself that I didn’t. But now is my chance and I will be greeting this show with arms wide open.

Following their acclaimed performance at the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, STOMP returns to Australia from 13 August, with new routines, new choreography and new music.

Wordless, witty and fun, STOMP has become a global phenomenon over the last 22 years.  Its universal language of rhythm, theatre, comedy and dance has resonated with audiences throughout the world, setting feet stamping, fingers drumming and adrenalin rushing for over 15 million people in 50 countries across 5 continents.  STOMP is currently playing in the UK, US, throughout Europe and South America.

Eight performers use everything from supermarket trolleys to Zippo lighters, plastic bags to bin lids, and even the kitchen sink to hammer out an explosively feel-good rhythm. 

The fun started back in 1991 at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland, with a single drum hanging around Co-Creator/Director Luke Cresswell’s neck.  STOMP was an instant hit, becoming the Guardian’s "Critic's Choice" and winning the Daily Express's "Best of the Fringe" award, and went on to play to capacity audiences around the world.  In 1994 STOMP received an Olivier Award nomination for “Best Entertainment” and won the award for "Best Choreography in a West End Show".  With appearances at the Oscars, the Emmy's, on prime-time US TV shows such as Letterman and Leno, and most recently at the London 2012 Olympics, STOMP has become a household name across the world.

STOMP last visited Australia in 2009 and enjoyed a sell-out season.  “We are really excited about coming back to Australia,” says STOMP’sCo-Creator/Director Steve McNicholas.  “If you’ve never seen STOMP you should come and see what all the noise is about, and if you’ve seen it before then this show has plenty of new routines to enthral.”

Now I don’t want to give to much away as I shall be making a review post of this bad boy, and no doubt encouraging you all to go and see it unless something goes horribly wrong haha.

I think if you can do anything to help those suffer from such a nasty thing you should, after all every dollar counts. You may not think it does but your money will help purchase medicine, test tubes and so much more.

I have never smelt another hair product sweeter and Summer like then this baby. The smell is of a strong sweet coconut and is perfectly matched for Summer. I know this will be my turn to product for my hair in the hotter months and I will have to start to stock up in the meantime.
Only recently have I started wearing my hair down naturally without straightening the life out of it, and I am actually getting compliments. I could not believe how long my hair was actually getting and got really excited when I was driving in the car and felt my hair sitting on my lap (that’s how long it is, and how long it has been living in a bun.)
Not many people have seen me with my hair down, and especially natural. Naturally my hair is quite wavy and has been told it looks amazing just out of the shower. But when I use Instant Rockstars Beach Rock Ocean Hair Spray it just makes my hair curl and gives me them amazing beach waves. You have to be careful not to use to much as your hair will become crusty and crunchy as I believe they have popped a hair spray type product in there to help hold the beach waves.

I love that Instant Rockstar have made three different sorts of Dirty Weekend which suit all sorts of hair shades. I was sent the medium and this suits my light brunette hair perfectly, but any darker then my hair and I would recommend the Dark can.
It has a beautiful fragrance, which I just cannot describe, but certainly is the best smelling dry shampoo I have ever used and smelt. I will be packing this bad boy in my suitcase to QLD as I know I wont be washing my hair every single day being in the beach and also the pools. This dry shampoo dead set is a lifesaver when it comes to my blow wave and I wouldn’t rely on any other product. Some dry shampoos have been a complete nightmare, leaving my hair with what looks like horrible dandruff no matter how much I brush or use my hair dryer. I am sure that I am not the only person that has had this experience and it is what scared me out of using Dry Shampoo.
 If you haven’t yet tried a dry shampoo I would certainly recommend giving Instant Rockstar’s a go, I will continue to use this Dry Shampoo until the day it is discontinued (if ever.)

Eles Masquerade Collection Review

This media sendout I received would have to be one of the best ones I have received yet. Just opening it and seeing the masquerade mask sitting on top of the package made me want to get my party on, let alone seeing the amazing shades inside.

The collection has been pieced together nicely and the colours really do match the whole masquerade theme and more.  The Nude Contessa and Phantom Black are my favourite shades.

Eles has used a great formula in their polishes and these are a treat to pop on your nails. The only problem I found was the metallic such as the Carnivale Copper and Baroque Bronze were a bit streaky and no matter what I did I couldn’t get it on without streaks. The Colombia gold is the same sort of formula and metallic only this on goes on smooth and not a streak in site, so I am not sure what is going on there.

Nude Contessa
Is a beautiful nude and one of the first I have found that don’t clump on the nail and sort of separate. The formula is a dream to work with.

Orthello Orange
Looks super neon in the bottle but isn’t so intense on the nail, I don’t know if that is a positive or not because I would love to get a neon bright thick colour from ELES.

Vivaldi Blue
This is a lovely aquamarine/light blue shade that has a beautiful glimmer to it. I think out of the two different blue/teal this would have to be my favourite. Plus it goes on without any streaks or anything.

Phantom Black
Is exactly what the name suggests, a glossy black when it goes on that sets down into a matte finish! I haven’t been a very keen one on matte finishes but this just works.

Casanova Red
A beautiful popping red that reminds me of the freshest of fresh bright red roses. This add a lovely hint of class any of my outfits and gets everyone’s attention. And I love pairing this up with an intense red lippy.

Colombia Gold
I wore this to Sovereign Hill as I always match my nails to the occasion and I adore this gold so, so much. You don’t even need a second coat if you don’t want to as it goes on quite thick. Another plus about this is the fact it is easy to remove from your nails and there is no need for foil and acetone soaks.

Veronese Orchid
Is a beautiful orchid shade and my daughter loves having this on her nails. The reason for me allowing her to use these polishes is it dries in no time ( Miss Hayley is not the most patient person I have met haha.)  But it also kind of looks like a lavender colour.

Purple Royale
This looks like a lovely colour in the bottle, but will require a couple of coats. I found when I put the first coat on it looked quite opaque. But when the two coats are on it looks fab!

Tinttoretto Teal
Now to me when on my nails this looks like a greeny moss colour. I have no idea when I will be wearing this but I am sure there will be an event coming up I can pair it with.. Or I will have to just go shopping to find something to wear that goes hehe.

Baroque Bronze
This was a little bit streaky on my nails and I have no idea why. I used ridge filler, applying thick coats and light coats but nothing seemed to stop it. But when I let the polish sit and dry on my nails, the streaks add to the cool look of this colour and it kind of looks like a rusty look.

Carnivale Copper
To me this shade is more of a burnt orange then a copper. I would picture a glimmer in copper but this is a plain polish. But a plain polish that I love, I have already worn this colour many times and I think is a shade you will see a lot of in Spring.

Fuchsia Fontana
A Glimmery pink/purple shade that is super bright and eye catching. This reflects of the light beautifully and really does bling. I wore this shade to Legally Blonde (The second time I went.)


Now I have these polishes and a fantastic mask all I need is a Masquerade Party, any takers?

Ahh, well until a Masquerade party pops up I will use these polishes on a day to day basis and also use them to help match my nails to my events. I have started to do a lot of matching nails to the events and outings I attend, even though I don’t have model hands I still have fun.

Anything that can give my shower time in Winter the bog old Karate chop, is a miracle product for me and this baby is right up there. You know them horrible mornings when you have to strip all you clothes off, shiver almost half to death waiting for the water to heat up and then the last thing you want to do is hop out only to freeze your little butt off before getting dresses as you need to moisturiser (bla bla blaaa.) Forget that crap, I just jump out of the shower and it is like all of a sudden I am in the Olympics racing to get my clothes on.  My poor skin dries up something shocking in Winter and a major cause of that is because I don’t moisturise.

COLOR WOW pop & lock crystallite shellac

It has been 2 long years since doing ANYTHING to my hair, and I went all out there with a balayage hair colour and slight restyle.
My hair is very long and almost touches my bottom so I had the tiniest amount take off and also a little more shape made to it and thinned out.

So with this new change came a lot more care to my hair, as anybody with blonde in their hair would know it can get quite weak and damaged quickly. So thanks to the amazing Brian I was sent some COLOR WOW shellac to try out on my new locks.
Yes you did just hear right, a shellac for hair. It is the same concept as what you do to your nails, if you add a product to your nails to strengthen and protect why not do the same to your hair? No, no, no please don’t go and apply a shellac polish to your hair or anything as that would be a disaster! But instead I would encourage any lady with locks they want to protect to try the amazing:

For my long hair all I have to use is one big squirt in the palm of my hand and it covers ALL of my hair. In the bottle you can see flecks of glimmer and then when you squirt it on your hands they shimmer, so imagine what your hair looks like. When it is in my hands in feel sort of like a primer I have that just reminds me of silk. Then once applied to my hair it gives my hair that silky feeling only it keeps it more protected then silk would.
I know I say this a lot but I will be looking at getting the shampoo and conditioner to see if it really does colour lock this blonde in and help me keep the yellow shade away and keep the ash colour instead.

I have not ever really used BB Creams or CC Creams in the past as I didn’t really know what they did and just didn’t see the point. But now after years of wearing foundation each and every single day, it has taken a toll on my skin and also my purse. But thankfully this CC Cream has come into my life as it is light and allows my skin to breath, but still covering up all the blemishes. This cold weather beats the heat any day, it is so much easier to get warmer then it is to cool down. Not to mention how easy it is to snuggle into bed and go to sleep in a toasty bed.




Some of the things I love about Winter is those steamy hot baths, my jiggly hot water bottle, snuggles in bed and of course a nice HOT cup of tea.


I am not coffee buzzing kinda mum and would much prefer my cup of tea with a few drops of honey. My favourite tea of all tea’s are Chamomile Tea and nothing comes even close and now nothing comes between me and my Nature's Cuppa tea. But even if you love your cup of coffee, Nature's Cuppa has a beautiful coffee that even my expresso only loving partner loves. There is not many instant coffees he will drink, but he loves this one very much.

But if you online shopping is just not your thing I have seen Nature's Cuppa stocked at a few Woolworths :-)

Now I am not one of these beauties that just sticks to the one foundation, I like to use many different ones and mix them up a little. My New Do

Ok, so now I have decided to finally make a post on my new hair J

It has been almost two years since doing anything at all to my hair, not even a trim. So when I went to visit my girlfriend who is also a hairdresser I told her to give it her best shot. The only thing I didn’t want to loose was my length as my hair ALMOST touches my bottom. And long hair for me is a big thing, as I never ever had long hair as a child, as I was a little terror with the scissors and though it was the greatest thing and that I was a hairdresser and cutting my hair to the scalp. (**EEK**) I just hope my girls never pick up a pair of scissors and put it to their head!

But anyway the look we went for was the ombré or some call it balayage look. My roots were lightened a touch and then slowly worked down into a lovely blonde. If it was not to much hard work maintaining blonde locks I would do my whole hair blonde!!

So … Here is the final result!

It is still growing on me and now I have a taste for the hairdressers I will be back again and probably get rid of the blonde and go back to my natural colour with a light highlight.

Winter Fashion, Bargain Hunter

Well I have just returned from an amazing shopping trip at Uni Hill Factory Outlets.Uni Hill Factory Outlets is located on Janefield Drive, Bundoora, Melbourne.
Open 7 Days 10am - 6pm.


As my beauties would know, I was asked to be a blogger ambassador for Uni Hill Factory Outlet, and it was an offer I just could not refuse. At UHFO you will find the worlds biggest brands at up to 70% off. Stores include Nike, Lorna Jane, Lonsdale, Tony Bianco, Rivers, Birkenstock, Politix, Cotton On, Guess and many more.

 I went there on a mission.. To try and stick to the budget and not touch my account, only spending the gift cards to see the bargains I could hunt down for you! I did however have a Winter themed shop at hand and really had to picture things I could wear for a day or night out in Winter. You will be happy to know I only spent an extra $12 and came home with 4 bags full of goodies.

The first store I stopped into was
Cotton On

 This to me was my favourite shop of all the ones I stepped into, and the place you can go to be sure to get a bargain. The amount of bargains you can get in there is endless. I think if you walked in there with $100 you could easily walk out with 15+ items in your hand.
For example I walked in with $25 and left with 9 items!! Yeah you don’t have to read back I said 9 whole items, ok so some of them may have been smaller items but I still got 2 items of clothing and a pair of shoes on top of the bracelets, scarf and bottle of water.
So here is what I bought and how much I saved J
1.Toby flat $2 was $19.95
I cant believe I got a pair of flats for $2!!!!!! There were many styles and sizes all for $5 and under. I actually thought these shoes were $5 and when scanned they only came to $2. I don’t even care if they only get one wear, it is all worth it.


  2.Cotton Sample top- Green with little studs $5.00
This will go great with my military boots, and my new leather jacket. I think it is a beauty for winter.


3.Petersburg Kimono $10.00 was $24.95
Now I know this is not a Winter piece but I just could not bring myself to walk past it and the colours were just divine. Plus Spring is only 1 month away and this baby will be coming out heaps. I love the colours and the quality, and this Winter has not been to cold and I could wear this with a white long sleeve under it.
4.Sarayah Scarf $2.00
No Winter wardrobe is complete without a scarf or two (maybe 5 at this price.) Their range was beautiful and I thought a brown neutral shade can almost go with anything.



5.4x bracelets for $4
Can be used with absolutely anything and I will not stop wearing these, they are super cute. Although my daughter did claim one as hers..


  6.  Foundation water $2.00(goes to charity.)
To cure my thirst, while shopping my bottom off.




I was in a little bit of a rush at Cotton On as it was quite crowded in there, but man oh man I will be back (without kids.) Some of their amazing bargains were mind boggling, for me the biggest was they had nice boots for $5!!!!

I also found that out of all the shops I went into the staff were super friendly, and really lovely. One that really stood out for me was the young woman at cotton On, that was doting over my kiddie winkles.

The second store I paid a visit into was
Giordano

Here I found the most adorable White cardigan. This will go with a dress I bought and will tell you about a little later on. I know Winter can get cold but sometimes you need to get your dress and heels on when going out. So if it is to cold, I like to throw on a nice dressy cardy and I finally found a nice white one.
Cotton Jersey V Neck Cardigan $20.00 was $40.00
I also snuck it a super cute scarf, which was only $7.50 and is made from a very soft cotton fabric.

For me Giordano has more basic clothing and is not a place you would usually shop for women’s dressy clothing. I found it so hard to walk past their really high quality singlet’s that were only $5.

After Giordano we popped into the store next door which was
Rivers

I was sent with a $25 budget here, which was a little to hard to stick to as Rivers clothes are good quality and will be sure to keep you warm in Winter. I was tempted to buy a leather jacket they had there for $59.95.. But then told myself,  “ NO, you have a budget.”
So instead I settled for a lovely knit that matches my top from Cotton On. I had to chip in $4.95 but I did not mind at all.
Knit Herb $29.95 (it has no regular price.)
This is a green coloured knit, which is loosely knitted together but enough to keep you nice and warm. It also has little studs on the shoulders adding a bit of bling! This would also go great with my Military boots and dark denim jeans.

The last store on my list was
JeansWest
It has been agggges since I stepped foot in any Jeanswest store, and today I found out what I was missing out on. Their quality of clothes were amazing and I fell in love with so many pieces. When I walked in I set myself another little mission to find a piece that was a HUGE bargain and had the most knocked off it. This is where I found
Tribal Print Dress $20 was $69.95 then $49.95.
 Now again this is not your everyday Winter piece, but a lot of Jeanswest’s clothing were clearing out there Summer stock. But I did buy a beautiful white cardigan that would go with this piece nicely. Plus like I have mentioned early Spring is just around the corner and this will be worn day in and day out.
I had a spare $5 to burn so I had a little look around and found a really pretty belt- This is the picture of it.. And I LOVE it <3


After all this shopping the kids were well and truly done and very cranky. So I thought I would treat them to a little snack to get them through until dinner.
We made a pit stop at
Killer Coffee

Here I was confronted with loads of Muffins, breads, wraps, rolls, sandwiches and of course amazing smelling coffee.
I bought the girls a juice each, a Apple crumble muffin (which was mammoth) and a mineral water for me. All for just under $15! And let me tell you not even one of the crumbs remained from that muffin, it was delicious.

Australia’s sporting colours- MCG National Sports Museum

History behind Australia’s sporting colours uncovered by the National Sports Museum




Australians have been wearing the green and gold for their country for more than a century, but those colours have not always been the first choice for Australian sporting teams.
From Saturday July 27 until Sunday April 20, 2014, the National Sports Museum will showcase a rare and valuable collection of artefacts illustrating the evolution of green and gold as Australia’s national sporting colours.
More than Green and Gold: Australia’s Sporting Colours captures the historical journey of ‘green and gold’, from 19th century experiments with the national colour palette through to the contemporary use of the colours to define the broader Australian identity.
“As our cricketers pull on their baggy greens to represent Australia in the Ashes this year, it’s fitting that we look back to their counterparts of 1899, who were the first to wear the green and gold for Australia,” saidNational Sports Museum Curator, Helen Walpole.
“The exhibition’s opening coincides with the Ashes taking place in England and the exhibition’s run will continue as the second of 2013’s two Ashes series comes to the MCG later this year.
“There have been some fascinating colour choices over the years. The exhibition includes what we think is the oldest piece of Australian team uniform still in existence – a pink and black striped sash from the Australian cricketers of 1880.
“Anyone who thinks the combination of green and gold is unfashionable should definitely take a look at this piece of sartorial sporting history.”
Of course, 2013 marks 30 years since the green and gold boxing kangaroo received national and international prominence when it served as the symbol for the successful Australian challenge for the America’s Cup in 1983.
The exhibition will mark this anniversary by featuring one of the original boxing kangaroo banners (from the Western Australian Museum), as well as the infamous boxing kangaroo dress worn by Barry Humphries’ character, Dame Edna Everage (from the Arts Centre, Melbourne).   
John Bertrand, the yachtsman who skippered Australia II to victory in the 1983 America’s Cup, ending 132 years of American supremacy, was instrumental in the transition of the green and gold from the sporting field into the broader social domain.
“The green and gold boxing kangaroo was our America's Cup 'battle flag’,” said Bertrand, who is now Chairman of The Sport Australia Hall of Fame.
“Its red gloves were a symbol for aggression, its pumped up chest embodied the pride of our nation and, of course, the green and gold represented our national sporting colours.” 
As well as featuring unique Australian sporting uniforms from the past 130 years, the exhibition also demonstrates how the green and gold colours have extended beyond sport to become truly ‘national’ – used in political logos, patriotic campaigns, commercial products, artworks and costumes.
John Howard’s green and gold tracksuit, the 1999 ‘yes’ republic campaign, the ‘Australian Made’ symbol and the uniform of the Numbats (Australia’s inaugural Sudoku team) are just some of the examples included in the exhibition to reflect the broader use of the colours.

OPI to the Rescue

Now this cold weather is really taking its toll on my nails, hence the reason you have not seen as many nail swatches as you would usually see on my blog and instagram.

But thankfully the OPI fairy (Lisa) and OPI’s Karon McKendrick-Taylor (OPI Educator and Stylist) have come to my rescue with a two-month regime.



This was just to good not to share with all my beauties suffering the same thing and on the same boat as me.

Karon asks for you to wear gloves whenever possible, especially if you are using bleach or nappy san. This is where I will need to seriously change and buy a pair of gloves for the kitchen and another pair for the laundry. For me if I am doing laundry duties and have my gloves in the kitchen I just wont bother to put them on (lazy I know.)

I explained to Lisa who passed the details of the condition of my nails on to Karon. I will give you a little low down on my nails: They have ridges and starting to peel back at the tips. They are also starting to crack at the cuticle from being dry.
 According to Karon, it sounds like you have been sick in the past or you might have a skin allergy which has caused your nails to form ridges.  Use OPI's Ridge Filler as your base coat. And when I heard this it is like Karon has been a little fly on my wall. It was like she had been following me around for the last year and a half… I have not been the best health wise in this time and have been put on a waiting list for surgery (DAMN public health system, but I will be signing up for Private next month!!)

Also, it is very very important for you to hydrate your nails. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.. Oils and hand creams are the best hydrations.

Now we are going to put you on a 2 month program for your nails, your steps are below.
The products used are:
•   OPI's Avoplex Rejuvenating Cuticle Oil
•   OPI Avoplex High Intensity Hand Lotion
•   Nail Envy Sensetive & Peeling
•   OPI Top Coat
•   OPI Ridge Filler
Polish remover - non acetone (pink)



1.  Apply first thing in the morning and at night apply a cuticle oil & hand lotion - OPI's Avoplex Rejuvenating Cuticle Oil & OPI Avoplex High Intensity Hand Lotion - massage the oils and lotion into your hands, nails and cuticles.  When you are cooking massage your cooking oil into your hands and nails.  Massage as much as possible.  If your hands and nails feel dry, apply the cuticle oil and hand cream. If I could put a scratch and sniff of the cuticle oil I would, this stuff smells so beautiful and gives me even more reason to apply it. It also really soaks deep into your cuticles immediately improving the look and feel of them.
 
2    Use OPI's Ridge Filler as your base coat from here-on. Do Not Buff your nail plate to remove your ridges. I was a serial buffer before reading this :-/ But now I will throw that buffer away in the bin and just turn to my Ridge Filler, which may I add works better then any buffer I have used. I am so glad ridge filler has come into my life.

3    Instead of filing your nails, clip the ends removing all of the flaking tips.  Trim as soon as you notice splits or flakes.

4    They also sent me the Nail Strengthener as this is what I need to do for the next 8 weeks.
Using OPI's Sensetive & Peeling Nail Envy in apply 2 coats on the first day, then 1 coat every second day for a week, remove (using the pink acetone free polish remover) and start again........ repeat for 8 weeks. I have used this twice so far and have seen a slight improvement, but think I will have to use it the full course to see it really work. It does add a lovely shine, almost like a top coat to my nails, which I love when I am not wearing any polish.

5    Use OPI's Top Coat. I never thought using a top coat would make much of a difference to you mani or pedi except for making it more shiny. But I was wrong (once again.) Using a good base coat and top coat together extends the life of your mani or pedi and keeps your colour locked in and protected.

6    Now when removing your nail lacquer use the OPI Polish remover we send you it is non acetone (pink) - it is oil based.
Whilst OPI's Expert Touch lacquer remover is ideal for removing dark lacquer or glittery lacquers it is very drying if used everyday.....for your nails you need to be using a lacquer remover that is oil based (acetone free). I must confess I have been using a high percentage acetone remover to remove all nail polish, as I hate scrubbing them away and think that would do more damage. This could explain why my cuticles are drying out and cracking now I think of it!  But I found with this remover I didn’t even have to scrub and the polish just came straight off and didn’t effect my nails or cuticles.
  

Now I have given you these amazing tips and program, I will check back in 2 months and give you a before and after shot… But all photos will have to wait until then J

Nightmares and little ones :-( MUMMY IN NEED OF HELP!!

That moment you wake up in the middle of the night with a hot flush and your heart pounding a million miles an hour.. Then you realise the reason you woke up is because your eldest daughter (Miss H is 5) is screaming your name with a stomach wrenching scream.

I literally have to jump out of bed and take a bolt down the hall way, tripping over toys and stubbing a toe on the way. When I reach Miss H’s room, I find her sitting there in a daze barely away and in a zombie like state. This has happened about 5 or so times now within the last two month.. “This” of course is these horrible night terrors.


I try and calm her down and try and get some words out of her to let me know what is happening in these terrible dreams, but all I get is a moan and a grunt and then she will lay herself down again.

Tonight was one of the worst ones I have seen her have, and went in there only to find her sitting up tears gushing down her face.. I ask her what is wrong and all she can tell me is, “The gooses.. It was the gooses.” I don’t know what could be causing these and really need some opinions and help on how to stop them.

My heart breaks every time I hear that chilling scream and I feel so helpless not being able to help my baby angel and make them go away.

I have bought her a dream catcher and explained to her what they do etc. And how when I was a little girl I would not go to sleep without them. That helped for a little bit but now no matter what these horrid night terrors occur. They get so bad I am actually scared that my poor baby will be to terrified to go to sleep L
